Hague and Murphy have a fiery discussion about GERS

GERS

Murphy and Hague

In case you missed it earlier today, I recorded the discussion about the GERS figures that was broadcast on the John Beattie Show.

Accountant and economist Richard Murphy argues that the GERS figures are not fit for purpose while businessman Kevin Hague thinks they give us a good idea of the starting position of an independent Scotland.

I’ll not comment on the substance of the debate, you can make up your own mind. One thing they both seem to agree on is that the GERS figures don’t represent the finances of an independent Scotland.

Let us know who you think was more convincing in the comments.
